The Oshawa Greens had another good Canada Day down at the Lake. There was a lot of positive feedback from the citizens of Oshawa. The Green message is being heard loud and clear by the people, and it is up to our elected officials to act upon the goodwill of their constituents. Gail, our new candidate, who will do just that, braved the harsh sun to shake hands with and introduce herself to both young and old, and everyone in between. We handed out Honey locust seeds, a beautiful tree that will help ensure the beauty of this area lasts for years to come. If you received some seeds today are wondering how to go about planting them, the following steps will guarantee that you have a healthy tree growing in your neighbourhood.
Planting Instructions
Preparation is required. Before planting the seeds, soak them in a cup of boiling water. Let the seeds soak in water for 24 to 36 hours, after that the seeds will be ready to plant. Plant seeds ΒΌβ inch deep. Water and place in a sunny spot. Cover with plastic wrap until seeds sprout. Water the seedlings once weekly. Transplant outside when about four inches tall.
Thanks to all those who came out and showed their support for the Green Party and Canada, on this our 142nd national birthday. We look forward to seeing you again next year. Happy Canada Day!
