After watching the news this past week on the H1N1 vaccine rollout I am left amazed that Canadians have any confidence in how our Conservative government runs things. After being told last year from Harper that there was no recession and Jim Flaherty that there would be no deficit I guess we shouldn’t be surprised that this government didn’t take this issue seriously either. Ms. Aglukkag the Conservative’s Minister of Health promised us that we would have enough vaccine for all Canadian’s who wanted one. She forgot to mention that most of us would not be able to get it until, oh maybe Christmas, long past the threat of this second wave is behind most of us. Or that she would provide it to private clinics who charge a huge fee and make pregnant women and young children wait in the cold and rain for hours. The news today says that Nova Scotia is no longer considering those under 65 with chronic conditions on the priority list, followed by a news story, that across the country, the Calgary Flames and their families received the vaccine in a “special clinic”. We have not heard of any plans to vaccinate our children in schools but already criminals are receiving their vaccines in prison. So much for that tough on crime policy the Conservative’s keep touting. Now they blame anyone and everyone they can point their finger at without taking any responsibility again. Colin Carrie can you ask your leader where that accountability he spewed all over the air waves last election is now? And why did he spend over 60 million on promoting your Conservative government’s Economic Action Plan to tout your own horns, while very little was spent on educating the public on what your government calls the largest vaccination program in the history of Canada?
